You’re preaching to the choir with me, Joel. I wrote a similar piece a while back and I got kudos as well as dirt clods. (I’d drop a link but I don’t drop links to my stuff in comments. Call me classy.)

To my dismay, some of the kudos people have since quietly put their hands out.

I’ve been thinking about whether or not I want to keep writing here. I’m over 60 and I’d rather die with something other than a stack of rants, listicles, repackaged history stories, tips and tricks, and coming of age anecdotes to my credit.

Scraping up enough to pay my property taxes each year has been fun, but it’s getting in the way of doing the bigger stuff that could earn me much more in the long run. I haven’t written much here lately and, consequently, my earnings have tanked. Maybe my subconscious is telling me something.
