Someone on social media called me a Karen the other day, and I was a little stunned. Sure, I’m a white woman who has enjoyed a privileged lifestyle. I don’t have much control over than unless I get a divorce, deplete my savings on FanDuel Sportsbook, and join a commune, or possibly a biker gang.
I’m not a Karen because I don’t act like one. Okay, okay, I have asked to talk to the manager, but only on the phone to customer service. Hey, I’m entitled. (Whoops!) Your behavior is a critical element when assessing your alleged “Karenness.” If you’re not sure you qualify as a Karen, here are ten signs you might be:
1. — You might be a Karen if you paid someone to take your kid’s SATs.
It’s unclear if you’re a Karen because of this, but you are a Felicity. You’re also a crook and a lousy parent. Shame on you!
