Yes. In one case it was because people were conducting drug deals from the picnic tables and the park was close to the high school. In the other case, it was the 1960s in a college town and hippies were always hanging out and sleeping on the bench in front of the village library. After they removed the bench, the hippies just sat and slept on the ground in the spot where the bench used to be. The people who owned the art supply store in town donated a memorial marble bench for that spot, so now it will never be taken away.
