Years ago I was watching the red carpet arrivals at the Oscars. Joan Rivers asked Anthony Hopkins if his date was his mother. He said it was his wife. Rivers (the poster child for aging with as little grace as possible) had no idea what a woman in her 60s was supposed to look like. For the first time in her life, she was speechless.
