The death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has rocked the progressive moment in America to its core. The Democrats are threatening severe ramifications if the Senate confirms a Trump appointee before we know the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Fears over the prospect of abortion rights restrictions and the possible overturning of Roe v. Wade have prompted many to imagine, like Chicken Little, that the sky is falling. I’m not one of them, and here’s why.

Republicans want someone conservative, but qualified, Trump wants a personal servant

Until we know the outcome of this year’s presidential election, Republicans still influence Trump’s selection. Republican leadership is making sure that his pick will be someone conservative, but qualified.

Should Trump win, he will no longer need the Republicans’ help to get re-elected. A win will send Trump’s ego into the stratosphere. Any power that the Mitch McConnells of the world have will evaporate in an instant. With King Donald on the throne, the sky’s the limit. He could appoint anyone he chooses, including a…
