When I was a lot younger, I was watching a TV drama where a mother was trying to comfort her teenage daughter because the girl feared she was not pretty. “Why, Mary Ellen,” she said, “You’re next door to being beautiful!” That’s always been me. Just one door down. The good thing about it though, is that as you age, you don’t feel like putting your head in the oven every time you look in a mirror. There’s a bright side to everything!
