We were offered an opportunity by a friend to buy shares in a company that owned mobile home rentals. We looked over the details, it looked like a sound investment, but we said no. We wanted nothing to do with evicting low-income people from their homes. Our friend made a bundle but he got as hardened as your friend did. He told us he was sick of hearing, “I’m a good Christian, I always pay my rent on time” and then having to evict the guy within 6 months. There’s no limit to the amount of money you can make if you have a hard heart and few scruples. That’s just not who I want to be.
