Waitressing is a tough job because you have to work physically hard and put up with tons of emotional abuse. The worst job I had was customer service representative at a cable company. Nobody calls to say how delighted they are. Some liked to get personal. They got disconnected for non-payment and suddenly I was a pathetic human being who must be hard up for a job to do this for a living. I had a friend who once worked for the phone company. An in office customer literally spit in her face and she was reprimanded because she had let it show she was upset. (No nasty language or punch to the jaw, just walked away briefly to compose herself.) She said she saw one co-worker lose it, stand on her chair and start screaming. The EMTs took her out in a straight jacket.
