Tim’s story is out of date. Things are quite different there now. I did not write a lot waiting to be monetized, but I worried that stopping dead might get me rejected. So I did local stuff that wouldn’t get a lot of reads and would be past it’s fresh date by the time monetization kicked in. A couple high-performers emerged early that I could have done pretty well on, but you never know what will hit it big.
