Rachel’s notion of what she deserves isn’t because of social media or feminist theory. Plenty of men act exactly the same way. This sort of behavior is bred into people. They think they’re special because, their whole lives, somebody’s been telling them they are and the rest just cave into their demands to avoid conflict. You were right to cut her off, but wrong to assume her behavior had anything to do with being female.
