These attitudes persist because of a lack of exposure to people who are different. Japan has a racist streak in its culture, too. This might be an opportunity to change those negative perceptions.

There are dedicated racists, and then, there are others who just don’t know any better. People willing to go help in Ukraine can teach them that compassion can come in any color.

It’s also important to note that helping stop Putin’s murderous rampage is in the best interest of America and our European allies because he won’t stop at Ukraine.
