There’s an upside and a downside to all our choices, isn’t there, Mary? My greatest joy in life has been my son, but being a parent comes with its share of anguish. For a while, I regretted not having more children, but I got so lucky with the one I did have that quiting while I was ahead seemed like a good idea. I’ll never know what I’ve missed, but I know it would have been a mixed bag.
