There are a few writers on Medium who go on and on about what Americans are like and what’s wrong with America as if we’re all the same. Customs and attitudes differ wildly from place to place. Californians frequently all get lumped into one category although their state has a huge land mass, population, and is diverse in climate, culture, geography, and everything else. Someone comes from another country and starts telling us what America and Americans are like based on his experience in one city, a city that has huge differences depending on which neighborhood you’re in. It’s ridiculous.
