Family Fun
The Most Frightening Poem I Ever Read
Start a Halloween tradition and take turns reading it aloud by candlelight!
Parents may be hard-pressed this year to come up with fun things to do with their kids on Halloween, so I have a suggestion. Gather your family around a table, light some candles, turn out the lights, and take turns reading this poem aloud.
If you’ve never read a Robert W. Service poem, you’re in for a treat. Even people who don’t like poetry like his stuff. He was the most commercially successful poet of the 20th century. This one is creepy and funny at the same time. Don’t let the length scare you. I guarantee it will hold your attention, and besides it's part of the fun.

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
