The biggest problem with Dave's latest show is that there wasn't a decent laugh in it. A comedian can get away with a lot of questionable material if it's funny. The Book of Mormon is a good example. I think it worked because, at its heart, it wasn't malicious.

We have to stop labeling people. It's become an obsession. If someone wants to identify as one thing or ten things, that's fine, but slapping labels on other people just pisses them off.

For instance, I find the term cisgender deeply offensive, especially since it's so often used as a slur. Some sociologist comes up with these terms and we're all supposed to embrace them? It's dehumanizing.

We're human beings, not lab experiments. Ticking boxes and assigning categories doesn't bring people closer together, it drives them apart. The focus should be our shared humanity. It's vital that we band together to solve the problems that affect us all: lack of housing, food insecurity, the need for healthcare, clean air, clean water, the threat of climate change.

Once we recognize the things we have in common, we can be more open to accept our differences, and combat the threats to the existence of us all.
