That’s my approach, too. Lately, I haven’t felt like it. I’m binge reading historical novels (from which I’ve gotten ideas for stories). At this point in my life, I’m sick of people telling me what to do, so going after freelance work like writing social media posts about a subject in which I have no interest (for chump change) does not appeal to me.

I’m also not interested in spending hours each week promoting my writing. When I write something worth promoting, I’ll hire someone to do it for me. I don’t mow my own lawn either. If I have a stroke tomorrow, I don’t want to have wasted my last healthy day doing lawn maintenance or researching trending topics.
