That’s a beautiful tribute, Jim. Your father gave what he could, which is a lot more than many can muster. His absence was more due to necessity than choice. It would be wonderful if every father could be Atticus Finch, but few have the luxury or capacity to achieve that level of involvement. Far too many men in similar situations get in the truck and keep going. He may not have been home much, but he always returned.
