That sounds awful, Susie. It's these self-imposed ghettos that are dividing people into "us" and "them." People don't vote to improve the schools or increase access to daycare when they're isolated from people who have young children. My parents lived in a retirement community. My mother said it was depressing because there always seemed to be a funeral to go to. It made her wonder when her picture was going up on the bulletin board (and it eventually did).
