Thanks so much for this. My husband and I have been together for 43 years, married for 36. In the past week I snapped at him several times with more intensity than I have in years. Once it was because when I served him his tilapia, he asked, “Where are the scallops?” Another time he asked me if I was going to cook dinner. Interestingly, these blow-ups are usually in relation to food. (I cook, he doesn’t.) I think not being able to go out to eat is wearing on me. Since he’s working from home and is on a special diet, I cook for him three times a day, everyday. Suddenly, I’m my grandmother. Even my mother, who had five children, didn’t cook this much. I like to cook and am trying new recipes but having to do it all the time is wearing on me. I’m printing this out and the next time it happens, I’ll hand it to him and say, “I’m allowed. I have a note.”
