Later this morning, my husband and I plan to gingerly get into our aging Mercedes E-350 we happily purchased used over four years ago, take Route 9, cross the Hudson River via the Mid-Hudson bridge which was recently renamed for Franklin D. Roosevelt (the D is for Delano) then take Route 9W to Route 299 and continue on that until we reach our old hometown and have lunch at the bar/restaurant where my parents had their first date and my sister and brother-in-law shared their first kiss. Maybe I’ll have the delicious chili named Stormy’s for the now deceased and fairly grumpy former bartender who supposedly came up with the recipe but whom we all know got his out of a can.
