Thanks for your perspective, Karen. Having done both jobs to the point of exhaustion, I still maintain that being a server is harder. It’s physically, emotionally, and psychologically exhausting. You have to put up with cranky chefs, demanding management, and obnoxious customers, some of whom are unable to keep their hands to themselves. I can’t think of a day at work writing that ever left me in tears. As a server, it was a frequent occurrence.
