Someone I thought was a friend ended our friendship over a dispute about Mrs. Butterworth syrup. No joke. I maintain that there is nothing racist about the brand or the bottle. He insists there is. Even the fact that all four actors who have voiced the character in commercials are white women didn't sway him. Oh, well. I guess I'd rather not be friends with someone who would end a friendship over something so silly.
