Sherry, you are a terrific writer. What's wrong with Medium is what's wrong with Wall Street, and Madison Avenue, and every other major money machine enterprise in America. Money talks. Quality is completely besides the point. I recently read a story with a gazillion views and comments. The title promised what it didn't deliver. Almost all the comments were "WTF??)", but it didn't matter. The title intrigued us all to read, and read, and read. The author's responses were all upbeat, friendly, and coming from a place of "what the hell? I'm making bank on this fu---er!" This is not the place for integrity or authenticity. Some of the most populuar "authentic" writers on Medium are full of manure. The general population cannot distinquish between pearls and swine so they thrive. The only remedy is to run your own show.
