Putting people of color in traditionally white roles is inherently lazy. Rather than develop stories about Africans in Africa, or Asians in Asia, they reimagine classic European tales and cast people of color.

Ideally, we should be making more films about events in non-white history that have nothing to do with slavery or civil rights. Unfortunately, much recorded history was written by white people and I’m not sure scripts about black, Asian, or Native Americans told through “white eyes” would be embraced.
