People write about how to be a writer because there’s money in it. The problem is that, if they make it their niche, they cease to be a writer and morph into an educator. Nothing wrong with that, but those folks should stop thinking of themselves as great writers and so should their readers. They’re great marketers, maybe. I have picked up some tips on how to attract readers, etc. from some of these “how to” articles, but I haven’t learned anything about how to write. What I have learned is that I don’t want to be one of those people who hawks courses and subscriptions to a YouTube channel that promises to “slip you the answer.” That kind of money I can do without.
