Nope. His great-grandfather was Armand Hammer who was an oil company executive. “Armand Hammer was named after the "arm and hammer" graphic symbol of the Socialist Labor Party of America (SLP), in which his father had a leadership role.” He was known for his art collection and close ties to the Soviet Union, but he had nothing to do with the baking soda. The baking soda logo dates back to the 1860s, long before Hammer was born.
