My problem is that the Hamiltonization of every historical drama is going to make people dumber than ever. Were there non-white people in the British nobility and in positions of power in 18th and 19th century England? So few that most people in the upper circles went there whole lives without meeting them.

How about telling historical stories of people based on their culture and background? There were non-white people of power and extraordinary ability in Asia, Africa, and the Americas during that era. Why not make movies about them?
