My maiden name is Luczaj. I only had one teacher get the pronounciation right, in college. I think #1 isn’t the best example. WASP privilege maybe, but plenty of white people have names that are hard to pronounce. Ask Saoirse Ronan. Not equivalent of course, just putting it out there. We also get that “where are you from?” or “what kind of name is that?”
