My husband and I eat at the old people's restaurant near us, too, Orrin. It's a bit more upscale than Heidi's, as it's a seafood restaurant, but not much. They too serve dinner rolls, which are actually very good. They always have clam chowder and lobster bisque. Unless you order your fish with one of the special sauces of the day, everything is pretty bland. The side salad harkens back to the days of my youth: a little lettuce, a cherry tomato or two, and some red onions. They even have French dressing. If I close my eyes, I can hear my parents ghosts ordering the shrimp cocktail and the fried clams...
