My husband and I discuss what we're having for dinner because there have been times I knocked myself out on cooking a nice meal that he didn't eat, which drives me crazy. He might still be hungry from a late lunch, or his stomach is bothering him, or he's decided to cut out the carbs this week. When I check in with him, we avoid a lot of that. I don't care if he prefers a bowl of cereal for dinner, as long as I know before I start cooking a pot roast.
