My dad wore aftershave when he went out to dinner. It smelled nice. My brother-in-law used to use some trendy cologne back in the day, also very pleasant. My husband has a beard and doesn’t use any scent other than deodorant and whatever the soap leaves behind.

We lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for a long time where fragrance is generally frowned upon because so many people think of it as some form of air pollution. As an aside, I don’t wear makeup unless it’s for a performance, a job interview, or a special event. I wasn’t in the least offended by your story about makeup.

Those cranky broads read to respond, not to understand. They probably only skimmed the story and missed the point. You weren’t critical of those who don’t wear makeup at all, only those who make a fetish out of not wearing it.
