My, aren’t you virtuous! I can’t imagine working as an editor for free for a publication with such low editorial standards. You see, those of us who use our real names have reputations to protect. I’ve been a paid editor. Saying I was an editor for Illumination would not be very impressive to anyone familiar with some of its content. (I’ve published there, too, and know that in addition to the bad writing there is a lot of good, too.)

So, no money, a slightly tarnished reputation, and nothing for the portfolio. It’s not a deal I’d take, but then, I’m not terribly virtuous either. It was nice of you to defend Terry, but you lost me at the humble bragging and the hit on the other writer.
