Mel Gibson made anti-Semitic comments to a cop who pulled him over for driving drunk and his career has never recovered. He is also bipolar, was drunk at the time, and had an audience of one, maybe two people. It didn’t matter. Once someone shows people the ugliness inside them, they’ll never regain that benefit of the doubt.
