I’ve recently had my writing monetized on NewsBreak. In three days, I earned triple what I have on Medium in 30. NewsBreak gives you more information about how you are paid but it’s still a mystery since stories are each given their own pay rate.

They tell you they pay more for local stories, but I haven’t found that to be true. The pay rate per story can change from day to day. There does seem to be a correlation between pay rate and how many reads I’m getting but I’m not sure. It’s a far cry from getting a set amount per word. Just like at a casino, the house always wins.
