I’ve only had curated stories do really well in one category. Everything I write in that category for a particular publication is curated. In contrast, I’ve published scores of poems in several different publications and never had a single one curated ever. I suspect this is because there are few people writing in the category I do well in, and far too many poems being published. Since the quality of a poem is more difficult to judge than prose, I suspect curation for poetry is tied to specific authors. If there are any newbie poets out there who have had something curated, let me know.

I write whatever I want, like poetry The New Yorker wouldn’t dare print. Visit me at denisesheltonwrites.com.
