I’ve considered using my maiden name because it’s much more distinctive and I like the idea that the kids who bullied me when I was a kid will know when I become “famous”. I’ve been Denise Shelton a lot longer than I ever was Denise Luczai, though, and nobody can pronounce Luczai anyway. (I even have relatives who pronounce it several different ways.) It’s probably best to keep it simple.
