I’ve been thinking a lot about substance abuse lately due, in part, to the train wreck Depp vs. Heard trial. Heard’s attorney is harping on Depp’s drug use, even that which is unrelated to any alleged spousal abuse. The aim is to exploit the idea some hold that drug users are evil and capable of almost anything, ignoring the fact that people in general are capable of almost anything given the right situation. Most of them just don’t know it yet. The Donner party wasn’t on drugs.
