I’ve been starting to question whether or not I should be focusing so much time on writing on Medium, Linda. I’ve been making progress. I’ve already earned twice in 2021 than I did in 2020, enough to have to worry about income tax. I’ve finally gotten over 100 people on my mailing list, at least 50 of whom are complete strangers. One of my stories went viral and another semi-viral earning more in one month than in the prior 12. Once that happened, I was frantic to keep it happening. I’ve just noticed that the last three things I’ve written are listicles: a sure sign that I’m focusing too much on earning money and not enough on making my mark as a writer. I have to ask myself, “What will I regret not writing at the end of my life?” It won’t be clickbait. We never know how much time we have left. I want to start using mine more wisely.
