It’s never been easy for screenwriters. I just finished Liam O’Flaherty’s Hollywood Cemetery. It was written in the 1930s when he went to Hollywood to work on the film of his book The Informer. This highly fictionalized account of his experiences was banned and only became available recently. The opening sequence alone is worth your time.
