It takes a lot to get people into the movie theater these days, Ellen. My husband and I used to go out to the movies at least once a week. Now we wait for video unless it’s a sweeping spectacle best enjoyed on the big screen. I think the movie will do better on streaming. There was a famous headline in Variety in the 1930s: STIX NIX HIX PIX. It meant that rural audiences weren’t going to pictures about people like themselves. The wanted movies about those different from themselves. Could a similar attitude exist among the LBGTQ+ community?
