Into the Sunset
1 min readAug 2, 2020
I left my heart in San Francisco
For hours now
I’ve watched the sunset as the plane glides west
Glancing up from a book that doesn’t matter
Surprised to still see color spread across the sky
A shimmering stretch of amber silk
It deepens to vermillion as we descend
To the place where love lies waiting
Searching the sky for omens
