You don’t eat right. You drink too much. You spend too much money on non-essentials. Exercise for you costs money: golf course membership, ski lift tickets, Peleton subscription.

During the lockdown, you got used to having your groceries delivered. Maybe you signed up for multiple streaming services because there wasn’t much else to do. It’s understandable. We all had to get by as best we could under extreme stress.

The stress hasn’t ended, but the stressors have.

My husband and I used DoorDash the other night to order Asian food: two orders of chicken teriyaki, some egg rolls, and fried rice. The total with tip and delivery came to over $70.00. We had enough for three meals but seriously, do you want to eat the same meal three days in a row? I don’t.

Gas isn’t as expensive as it was, but it’s still not cheap. We checked two carry-on bags on our return flight from Europe last month, and United Airlines charged us $75 per bag. The cost of the traditional Thanksgiving dinner has gone up so much that some experts say smaller families might be better off eating out this year. How crazy is that?
