I’m sorry your dad is like that, Carrie. It would have had to be pretty outrageous for my dad to comment on my engagement photos, although he was sometimes quite critical, my whole family is. I was disappointed you didn’t show us one of the photos, but I understand that you didn’t want to attract any more critical comments.

I’ve learned to keep my mouth shut about stuff like this. Advice on what to wear, when it’s too late to alter anything, is just plain spiteful. I do think some people might benefit from if before the fact, though, but it should only be offered if asked.
