I’m sorry about your Mom. Having been through this with my parents and other family members, though, all pre-COVID, your family’s experience was pretty typical.
People simply don’t live forever, no matter how much love or level of care they receive. Ninety is very old. Fewer than 5% of Americans live that long. Alzheimer’s is a terminal illness that only gets worse.
You were very lucky to have her for as long as you did. I’m glad you have many happy memories of your Mom. That is what sustains us in our grief. “If onlys” only make us miserable.
