I’m so jealous. I don’t have a ladder. I only have a step stool. I couldn’t do nearly enough damage with that. My most recent adventure was two weeks of a horrible cold followed by my husband’s prostate surgery. The surgery went well but when I left him to overnight in the hospital, my “check brake fluid” light was on.

AAA took a full four hours to arrive and tow the car to the shop where I recently went for an inspection (I had a coupon!) and was told the brake fluid needed changing. It was expensive but hey, let’s not take any chances with the brakes, right? He said two break lines were bad, it would be $1,700 and he could start work on it for a week. I called my preferred mechanic and he said he could do it this week. So I call AAA to have it towed to my preferred guy. So sorry! They don’t do that. I had my shot, disabled vehicle tows allowed to one location only. So I had to call a regular tow company that charged me $90. The good news, car should be done tomorrow.

In the meantime, I needed a rental car so that’s another $80 a day.

The good news is my preferred mechanic is only charging me about $500 to fix my car. Beware of coupons, people!
