I’m not sure we’re talking about the same program. In California, they called it Keep Your Home California. It paid our mortgage while my husband and I were out of work. I don’t remember exactly how much it amounted to, but I think it was in the neighborhood of 20 to 30k. The application process wasn’t easy, but it was worth the effort. I’m not saying my experience was typical, but it was a tremendous help to us and we’re still very grateful.
