I’m more interested in how you ended up married to a guy from Denmark and why you moved around so much in a year. As for your stepdaughter’s observations, some of these things like the loudness and fences are not the case everywhere. It certainly isn’t where I live in Pennsylvania. I used to live in the San Francisco Bay Area and a lot of people ride bikes there because there are more safe places to ride. America will never be like Denmark. Size, population, diversity, our political and economic systems, and a myriad of regional differences make comparisons pointless. I do think we might do something about junk mail and the shopping “newspaper” that gets delivered to my house every week that goes straight in the garage can.
