I’m glad you called her. When a close friend of mine’s daughter got married, I interpreted the invitation as reading that I was invited to the wedding, but not the reception. I was hurt and decided not to go, but sent a nice gift. It put a damper on our friendship. A few years afterward, we had a heart-to-heart and, as it turned out, I absolutely was invited to both the wedding and the reception. I made an assumption based on how I expected that to be expressed on the invitation, and I was wrong, and it hurt our friendship. I could easily have avoided it by just talking to them, but my pride got in the way.
