I’m glad you are enjoying success with the big publications, Michelle. I’ve stopped submitting to them because they don’t pay off for me. They publish my stories and they quickly disappear. Your experience is unique to you and the kind of content you produce. Mid-sized publications are where my viral stories reside. I also don’t like the time it takes for big publications to get back to me. While I’m waiting for them to respond, and very possibly pass, I could be earning money with a smaller publication with a faster acceptance/rejection rate. The big publications also tend to chose formulaic content within narrow parameters which isn’t my thing.
