I'm glad I went to high school in New York in the Dazed and Confused era of the 1970s. Everyone was too stoned to beat anybody up. There was bullying, but it was rare. There were cliques, but everyone still snuck out together to the smoking lounge to get stoned. Yup. We had a designated smoking area for students AND Led Zeppelin. Those really were the good old days.
